Supporting Thames Concerts
As a sponsor
There are three principal methods of sponsoring Thames Concerts –
- Sponsoring a concert
- Sponsoring the season brochure
- Sponsoring the season
1. The cost of sponsoring a concert depends upon the programme, and ranges from £1000 to £4000. (Our aim is to bridge the gap between box office income and the artists’ costs.) Included are up to 20 complimentary top-price seats, an opportunity to display publicity material throughout the venue and on seats (plus connecting web links on the Thames Concerts website and that of the orchestra), a pre-concert reception in the Market House, Guildhall or the East End of the church, and an interval reception in the church, which will be attended by the conductor and some of the musicians. The company’s name will appear on all publicity relating to the concert.
2. The season brochure is produced in July and over 2500 copies are distributed. The brochure remains in active circulation for the whole season – in addition to a direct mailing of 1200, copies are found in the Fairfield Hall, Croydon, Kingston Tourist Information Centre, Richmond Tourist Information Centre, Kingston Borough Libraries, Elmbridge Borough Libraries, The Orange Tree Theatre, Richmond, The Landmark Centre, Teddington and Kingston Parish Church. The sponsorship package consists of a full page advertisement on the back cover of the brochure, plus the inclusion of an advertisement in every concert programme, plus up to four complimentary tickets to every concert in the series. The range of costs for brochure sponsorship is from £2000 to £3500, depending upon the negotiated package (this, too, can include interval receptions and further opportunities for publicity).
3. To be the sole sponsor of the Thames Concerts season, you will receive the benefits of (1) and (2) combined, plus the opportunity to include publicity material with our monthly mailings to members and on our website. All publicity and features concerning Thames Concerts will feature the name of the company; there will also be the possibility of providing musicians from the Thames Youth Orchestra and Tiffin Boys’ Choir for corporate hospitality. The costs for season sponsorship start at £10000.
As an advertiser
Different programmes are produced for every concert, and so it is possible either (a) to take out an advertisement in the concert programme for the whole season or (b) to advertise on a concert-by-concert basis.
Prices differ according to positioning in the programme, and range from £100 to £1000.
As an audience member
Thames Concerts relies upon the support of its large audience to mount each concert series. We welcome donations of any size to help us continue, and hugely value the support of many of our audience members. Furthermore, Gift-Aiding a donation adds a further 17.5% onto your donation once we reclaim the tax.
Specific types of donation may include the following:
Ø Sponsoring a soloist or conductor
(ranging from £500 to £2000)
Ø Sponsoring specific instruments (for example, piano hire)
(ranging from £750 to £1000)
Ø Enabling the programmes to be complimentary, by sponsoring the printing costs
(£300 per concert)
Ø Sponsoring a specific item in the programme
(for negotiation, but ranging from £50 for a short overture to £500 for a substantial piece)
Ø Sponsoring a pre-concert talk by some of the performers
(£250)
Have you considered bequeathing a sum to Thames Concerts in your will? It could be a way of guaranteeing the survival of the organisation, through enabling future audiences to enjoy a similar quality of music-making to our current season.
Every donation, of any size, makes a big difference, and helps us mount concerts of world-class standard.
